VACUUMING :

The rugs should be cleaned regularly with a vacuum cleaner, whether it looks dirty or not, in order to prevent any damage caused by soil and girt. Avoid the use of powerful vacuum cleaners as it can lead to the damage of the pile and pulling out of fibres.

AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT :

You should always protect your rugs from direct sunlight as it can cause the colour of the pile to fade away, this bleaching effect of sunlight is permanent and should be avoided in the long run.

BEATING :

If the rug is light in weight or easily handelable, beating is a great cleaning measure for it. Hang the rug, shake vigorously, and beat the back with a broom, rug beater, or a similar object to remove all the grime .

SPOT CLEANING :

Spills should be cleaned immediately before they set permanent in the rug. Do not rub the stain in any case, rather blot them. For liquid spills, use a clean cloth and press firmly to absorb as much liquid as possible. For other stains, sponge clean with water, or make a solution of water, white vinegar and mild detergent and with its foam, sponge clean. Dry the moisture by absorbing and ensure that the cleaning products are completely removed after cleaning. For hard and stubborn stains, seek proffesional help.

RUG PADS :

Investing in good rug pads is always a good choice to make. They prevent the rugs from wear and tear and incease air circulation, thus, extending the life of the rugs. Besides, they protect the floorings, provide extra comfort, and avoid slippage by proving a good grip to the rug.

BRUSHING :

Apart from vacuuming, regular brushing is an important measure to hamper the stubborn deposits and unyielding materials like pet hair, which the vacuum misses.

PROTECT FROM FURNITURE:

Heavy furniture and furniture kept for a long period of time can damage the pile permanently, hence you should always use rug protectors underneath the furniture or keep rotating the rug to prevent damage.
